Retro console and games thread

I've picked up two more N64 games today which are: Mischief Makers and Mario Tennis. Can't wait to play them both later

I wish I could find a PAL copy of Snowboard Kids 2 :( The last PAL version I saw on the bay was posted last July!
I know a member on here has a copy of it and for that he is a total ******* lol :D ;)

Better off dumping the pal machine and grabbing an ntsc version. Wouldn't go out of my way to hunt down pal titles for the 64, except for games by RARE and a few other exceptions (ISS) they are all pretty much awful conversions.

Cheers! Me too, might be time for some well deserved negative feedback...3 negs in 1 month is enough for a ban is it? To be honest eBay can be unpredictable...

Shame I wont have the money to my account until next Weds/Thurs though :(

I've got too many games to even consider dumping my pal machine (plus too many good memories of using it) I have considered getting an NTSC machine to run along side it though for the few US and JAP exclusives there are available for it :)

edit: Great news on the refund Jaymond :D

I'd recommend it mate I've got a NTSC n64 and a growing collection. Still got a hand full of pal games and a pal system. Best thing about the NTSC n64 is that it runs off pal power supply.

As soon as I find one at a nice price, i'll buy one :)
The price difference between some NTSC and PAL games is absolutely crazy! I can pick up a NTSC Resident Evil 2 for about £15 whereas the PAL version sells (complete) for over £30 on average! I only want the cartridge, not bothered about about the box.

Snowboard Kids 2 is another great example of a major price difference but I think that is mostly down to a greater availability rate upon release in the states whereas the PAL version was only released in Australia :(

On another note, I was playing some Goldeneye last night and I can't believe the buzz I still feel when speed running the game on Agent mode, I think it's mostly a nostalgia kick but darn it, it makes me feel good! :p

I have failed to manage to get this tuned in (Pioneer plasma and two LCD's) It's almost there but totally unplayable and unsure if it is my TV's or the console it's self. :(

Another nice purchase there Jaymond ;)

I've got such a soft spot for the Master System version of Sonic the Hedgehog, it's a fantastic game and in my opinion it shows off what the Master System could do when it wasn't doing ports of other games.

Don't get me wrong, many of the ports were fantastic (Shinobi in particular) but I'm just glad they tried something new with the Master System version of Sonic instead of trying to port the Megadrive version :)

I do prefer Sonic 1 on the Master System over the Mega Drive. Should that Master System arrive, I'll be using my RGB Cable Not sure it'll offer me any sound as it has a 3.5mm headphone jack on it, but nowhere to connect on the MS...?!

Just bought my tickets for playexpo :D

Even though I only live 30 mins away, i've booked in at the Premier Inn Trafford Centre West so I can properly enjoy the event

Even though most of us here are collectors and enjoy games of days gone by there are some people out there that have more money than sense. Its now at about £3k which to me is roughly 3 months wages (take home after tax) for just one game (ok a rare game but still just 1 game) which is just... wow.

I'm more shocked because for the price I thought it would be a sealed copy. I wouldn't pay silly money for one game. I've got a very good condition NTSC copy of Zelda that I managed to get for £15.

I have a copy of Zelda LTTP which is in much better condition than that. (Almost brand new), which I managed to swipe off ebay for a little over £30... I was so happy with that purchase....
