Picked up a Mega Drive model 1 and RGB cable. Lovely bit of kit, although you really need to do the 60Hz switch mod to get the most out of it. Sonic plays ridiculously slowly at 50Hz.

Oh and also I need to do the overbright S-video fix on my N64. Apart from that S-video looks great. The cable works on the SNES too and looks gorgeous. So sharp. Proper scanlines on a CRT :D

You'd need a supergun which can be gotten on Ebay for £25 a user called arcademultigame normally sells them but it seems he has non on at the moment. You'll also need a scart cable and a old psu from a PC around 250watt. The supergun accepts Neo Geo AES arcade sticks or Neo Geo CD controllers. Neo Geo arcade sticks can be a bit pricy I think I pay around £90 for two Neo Geo AES arcade sticks for an authentic feel when I play SNK games. You could just get a controler instead for around £25 or 30 so that's about £65 to get everything you need to play Arcades on your TV then you'll need to buy games Double Dragon cost me £56. It may be costly to get started but once you have all the parts to play games on the TV. You can buy any arcade PCB that's on Jamma. So Hyper neo Geo 64, Neo Geo MVS, Games on Jamma PCBS etc.

Is anyone here going to playexpo next weekend? I am and I can not wait! I'm looking forward to playing some classic arcade games and consoles/computers :)

Even though I only live about 45 minutes away from the venue I've booked in at a nearby premier inn so I can have a few drinks lol.

@WatchTower I'm getting really jealous of your increasing arcade board collection lol

I'm going, cant wait to play some retro games I couldn't play in their original form years ago.

Overpriced is right. £50 for a 60HZ, region lock disabled SNES. Using the old switch method if the description is right. So £50 for a SNES you have to manually switch and won't play all NTSC games (Advanced lockout games check the lock). For that price it should be a SuperCIC mod. They don't appear to do the controller ports either, they are selling some controllers that say ntsc snes only on ebay shop. If you've got your SNES open you may as well do the controller ports so you can use all controllers.

I've always loved playing Smash TV but i've never played the arcade version in its original form so I think that is the game i'm most looking forward to playing

If I find Killer Instinct 1 or 2 there then I be happy. Spent many hours playing them at Drayton Manor years ago.

Hopefully, if everything goes to plan. I be going travelling next year, first place I be heading is Japan. Hoping to get hold of some retro, unreleased outside of Japan games or maybe consoles for reasonable prices.

I can remember going on a family holiday to a Haven holiday site in Pwllheli back in about 2002. There was an arcade just out of the main entertainment building that had quite a few older machines, one of which was Killer Instinct 1 :D
It was only 10p a go as well. I was surprised at the time that I could still remember most of Orchids combos and specials, I managed to finish it on one credit several times on that holiday

I went back to that site earlier this year with my girlfriend and her niece and sadly that arcade has been demolished and the oldest arcade machine available on the whole site was a scud racer :(
