Retro console and games thread

I have really wanted this one as I remember playing it in the arcade as a kid every chance I got, however it is generally a very expensive game to pick up for the snes, I got lucky with a stupidly cheap buy it now, I then got an extra surprise when it arrived with a converter cart which I don't need, I ended up selling the converter for £6 more than I paid for the game... score.

Wannnnnnnnnnt!!!

Box is a bit tatty on the edges but the manual and cart are perfect. ultimately the most important part is it works.

Don't think I will ever get over my folks binning my Saturn and 30ish games, so its been in their loft for 16 years that doesn't mean I won't be round to pick it up eventually!

Just finished Resident Evil 2 for the first time in a long time. 3 hours 18 minutes, 3 saves and an A ranking isn't bad for a game I remembered almost nothing about :D.

eBay sellers definition of 'Very Good' is ****ing appalling. Case is scratched up and faded with dirt marks on it and the artwork are dirty and a bit crumpled. The other game is mostly good but has a small crack on the case .

I totally ignore that.. I look for sealed, new and like new, the others like 'very good' and good are just the sellers opinion. For me; just as long as its all there and it plays its fine. I wont pay extra if the seller thinks its a very good version compared to a good version and if the selling price is stupid; I would want to see it first.

It's so annoying :(. I've emailed him asking to return the game and get a refund but I won't hold my breath that he'll go down easily. Very good should be like new with a couple of scratches, not as if someone has gone at it with sand paper!

Think I'm going to buy some new Dreamcast cases. 8 for £20 so £2.50 each isn't too bad.

Open a dispute for an item not being as described, at some point there will be an option to get a partial refund, that way you don't have to return the item and you won't have paid over the odds anymore for what you've received.

Once you open a dispute, then more often than not eBay will side with the buyer.

If the seller ignores the dispute you'll get a full refund.

He actually responded :p. Said no refunds on the listing which is why I didn't hold my breath (as well as past experiences).

Everyone says no refunds, but you do have to give them if you are the wrong side of a dispute.

If you have a genuine grievance then eBay will generally side with the buyer.

Everyone says they aren't responsible for lost items, but they are.

In fact eBay is totally biased against sellers, I know I've been on the loosing side a few times through, what I perceived as, no fault of my own.

Open a dispute if you feel the item has been poorly described, you will get satisfaction, eBay and PayPal guarantee it.
