Retro console and games thread

A few more PSone games showed up today.

Star Gladiator was £1.99 del, Rage Racer was £2.49 Del and Tobal No.1 £3.49 Del so pretty cheap games. I played Rage Racer to death when i was younger. Absolutely awesome soundtrack as well.

This also showed up. 6 Days from AUS to UK. It's the NESRGB board. It's going to be my most difficult mod so far as you have to de-solder the PPU chip to place onto the RGB board. 40 pins... not going to be a lot of fun :(

I can't wait to install it mind :D

Picked these two up on a 2 for £10 deal. Not sure why the Jurassic Park game usually goes for as much as it does.

Ridge Racer Revolution might have been my favourite but Rollcage was my all time soundtrack.

I still play Rollcage Stage 2 on my PS One :D

Saw a Crystal Xbox yesterday in town, un-boxed but in good nick. They wanted £25 for it... not convinced I won't go back tomorrow. :o

For me it was Wipeout (and possibly wipeout 2097 but I havn't heard that in quite a while). My Saturn version of Wipeout doubles up as a CD of the soundtrack itself. :)

I STILL need to find the damn AV cable for my Saturn as well. It is in one of the boxes in the loft.... I think. :o

Have to say that the ridge racer series did have some awesome music tracks on them :)

need to find mine out and have a listen now lol

Restarting a collection (3rd time lucky!).

Thinking of starting with the NES, was advised to get a US one and then do some mod on it to play all games.

Previously had 4 CRT's with loads of consoles linked up, don't really have the room for that now - is there some device to get that means I can link up loads of consoles to one CRT tv? Or am I better off modding consoles with a small (24inch) LED tv these days, instead of CRT's?

Definitely go old school CRT, especially for the NES, it looks much better. You can often pick them up for free. Even the high end ones like the Trinitrons and Bang and Olufsen are only £10/£20

Hi yes, I still have a couple of CRT's - one is actually a Trinitron. What I'm after is something that allows me to connect several consoles/computers to CRT with a 'switch'. So I don't have to plug/unplug when I want to change device.

I'm sure there is something I just don't know what it's called!

You want a Bandridge scart switcher. They are really good switches and there in no signal loss through it. I think there is a passive one and a active one.

Just picked up a boxed Speccy 48k. Bit of a random purchase, was scanning the local ads on my phone and noticed one for sale (£35).

Since found out on Twitter, I can use my android phone to load games from which is pretty awesome! Will test her out tomorrow!

Some of today's pickups, all a £1 each don't usually pick up sports games but had never seen virtual golf or power move pro wrestling on the playstation 1 before :)

Some GameBoy action. This is my original DMG console that I had since I was a child, sadly it was badly yellowed and scuffed up so I had it pimped up by GameBoy Mods UK  The backlight is amazing, you can actually play games on it now and see! Most of the games are also mine since childhood, including some Asian boot-legs and multicarts.
