Retro console and games thread

No, just one corner of it ;)

Yes, it's Johnny Mnemonic by Williams, been after one for ages, I also have a Data East Lethal Weapon 3 and my Girlfriend has a Data East Hook.

It's all wrapped up at the moment, arrived just before I went to work. I have these from the guy I've bought it from.

This one in particular, £1600 and that's mates rates.

I see you're in Manchester, do you know about Play Expo on the 11th and 12th October? There will be over 100 pinballs all on freeplay along with loads of video cabs and some modern stuff too.

Discounted tickets here which give you entry to the whole event, not just the pinball side: http://www.ukpinball.com/twilightzone/

:)

Thanks mate, I went to the one in Blackpool was excellent but don't think there were any pinball machines. I'll certainly be buying a ticket, it's been a while since I played on one. Where you buy yours from? He got a site?

I buy from within the community as prices tend to be more realistic and the machines are well looked after on the whole, www.pinballinfo.com is a good place to start :)

I'm actually involved in the pinball side this year for Play Expo, should be taking some of my machines down.

When and where in Blackpool was this?

I'd have loved to go something like that :(

Just picked up this box of fun. Has 512 classic arcade games and the guy who made it does this as a full time job!

Perfect for when I don't have time to get stuck in to a game. Please excuse the terrible photo's. For reference, it's a 15" screen.

Yep I've been going there since early last year, the owner Mark has really got the place looking nice compared to when it was first open. I remember on one visit last year it was raining so bad that part of the roof had caved in heh.

It's a bit of a trek for me to get to so visits are fairly infrequent but we usually enjoy ourselves, I'd avoid going there if they're holding a big tournament though, the last time we went they had some sort of massive Smash Bros tourny running and the place was pretty packed (and it's not the biggest of venues yet) but still I enjoyed some games on KoF98 and various iterations of Street Fighter never the less.

The owner and his staff are very approachable and friendly, they'll all chat with you about arcades and video games and will most probably ask new attendees where they've travelled from etc. Mark has some interesting storys to tell about the 90s era Trocadero/Namco Wonderpark. They'll also be prepared to swap out games in the arcade cabs for you if it's not busy.

They've now got a little store at the entrance selling retro consoles and a small selection of retro games as well, it wasn't fully open when I was last there so not sure on pricing etc.

The location isn't the best so I wouldn't wander too much around the local area but it's fairly close to North Acton tube station and there's plenty of local amenities close by.

Guys I remember one of my mates years ago had a programme called Meme (I think?) which played loads of the old coin operated arcade games. Is it available today and is it legal? There was an amazing game I played on it where you fight the Predators as a squad kind of like Streets of Rage but I don't know what it's called.

:D:D:DMeme LOL:D:D:D .You're almost there, the prog is MAME (multi arcade machine emulator). As for legalities, for the ROM side of things probably not. Guessing both those bar top cabs run MAME.
