Retro console and games thread

Eh, not worth sending it back, might as well just add it to the collection.
Was expecting a least a "sorry about that" from the seller, but instead I got a "your wrong". :p

Leaving it at that, not worth the £6.50 in agro.

Do wish it was Rainbow Bell Adventures though. :(

Feeling a bit cheated today, man flu isn't helping.
I won Pop 'n' Twinbee Rainbow Bell Adventures for the SNES, all for the low price of £4 + P&P. Game turns up today and it's just regular Pop 'n' Twinbee, which is a SHMUP, rather then a platformer.

Not the biggest SHMUP fan, but I infinity prefer horizontal over vertical shooters anyday.

I'm not going to send it back, not for the grand total of £6.50, but I'm not sure what to do about the ebay seller. While he does have the correct picture of the cart, he has the listing down as Rainbow Bell Adventures.

your allowed to take it back and they will refund postage charges, because its "not advertised properly" (what ever its called)

Only the single SNES game? Buying Zelda is a must. Nice collection going on so far, looks like he enjoys sports / adventure / fighting / racing games?

I need to try and find a MegaDrive, ours is broke and we have loads of games for it :(

I've got a spare Megadrive version 1 with HD Graphics logo, collecting dust so happy to sell cheap to a fellow forum member. No cables or controllers. I know we are outside of the MM, but if you're interested then I'll list it in the console section.

Apparently it's my fault for not looking close enough.
He also thinks I'm talking about Rainbow Islands...

If it's not as described then open a dispute. No matter what they say, you will win. Chances are Ebay will send you a returns label, free of charge and you be refunded in full as soon as tracking says it's been returned.

For a second there I thought that was a game I played constantly on the spectrum as a kid, after a bit of googling realised it was actually a western game called The Wild Bunch, emulator time.

Haul number two, don't forget guys if you want LOTS and LOTS of C64 and ZX Spectrum games to buy, head over to level up games in Canterbury NOW!

I picked up a bin bag full of mostly c64 (some Amiga, one or two Spectrum) big-box games for a fiver from a boot sale a couple of years ago. Among one or two which were worth £20-£35 (and a dozen or so worth £10-£15) there was also a cartridge version of "Satan" - a pretty ****-poor game, but one of only about a dozen C64GS compatible games, and possibly the rarest of them all.

Stuck it on Ebay and it sold for about £75, but I do think I should have started it with a much higher price, in hindsight.

I'd have probably kept them if I still had an actual C64.

Yeh I'm putting mine up for sale too, but not the bay. Probably about £115 all in going by the prices as I didn't get mine for a fiver lol. Ah well, will see how I get on!

I can 2nd that, I'm off work next week, plan to head up there with my brother, he saw my last Mega Drive/Snes purchases and wants to tag along. :D

Also have to take along some change for the TMNT and Simpsons arcade machines. ;)

Managed to pick up a Megadrive 1 with 1 controller (no psu or av cable) with 3 games sonic 1 (not boxed), Jungle Strike (boxed) and Pitfighter (boxed), a Silver Gameboy Advance SP (no charger) with Finding Nemo Game, and a Gameboy Classic (no yellowing) all for £25 from Gumtree :D

Everything works as I had a spare Megdrive 1 psu and av cable and a charger for the GBA SP.

Had a cycle to Level up Games in Canterbury today (my poor bum).
Traded in a few extra games I had, and came away with these.

And don't worry Neil, I name dropped. ;)
