Retro console and games thread

Looks like 2 copies of DKC so could move one on to recoup a bit of money. I dont think it will go cheap but sometimes you have to pay for something if you really want it (but only if you can justify it to yourself ofc). It does look a nice clean console though.

thanks

ok, just looking for the last snes that was sold, that is boxed in mint condition, without any games, the last one had 2 official pads, and that hit £93

and the next one, identical to the one im bidding on, except its badly yellows, hit £75

so im guessing the snes on its own, is worth about 90-100 then?

DK going for around £30

the last superscope boxed in mint condition went for £63 !! but another one went for only £18 ??

Picked up this Commodore 64 at the local flea market for a tenner came with a couple games, but I bought more at a local second hand shop I remembered seeing some in and they were only 25p and 10p so I bought them all. I never had a commodore when I was younger I was a spectrum kid lol.

My Thunder Force collection for the Mega Drive is now complete. There was a PAL release of TF 3, but it was basically the US version packed with a German Manual. My MD plays all regions anyway so no biggie. Plus The other two PAL games play 60Hz and full screen anyway when I switch over.

Thunder Force II was the first game I ever played on my brother in law Japanese Mega Drive. At the time as a Master System owner, the music, sound and graphics blew me away.

Also picked up Classic Collection for MD as it's the only way to get Gunstar Heroes without spending silly money.

Well here we go, today's deliveries... Please note that these required a lot of cleaning up! ( Less said about Chaos Engine 2 the better )

I've got a couple of Mega Drive carts that won't load. I've split them and cleaned the contact thoroughly, but still no joy. On an older model one system I do get the licensed by Sega flash up on screen, but after that nothing.

Anyone know if there's anything else I can do with them apart from in them?

Some recent great shots in this thread. Thunderforce is a great shoot 'em up series. I know IV is probably the better game but I had a soft spot for III. I remember continually renting that and it also having the Genesis branding but played fine on a PAL MD. So this must be the European release you referred to.

Moonstone is also much awesomeness. I was an avid reader of C&VG and ACE back in those days and generally had more original games than most so had a reasonably diverse collection (Flood, Projectile being a couple of examples) that my mates didn't always have. They tended to swap copies of most of the latest games, as I'm sure most schools did back then. But one time a friend came around with Moonstone which had the 3 of us playing for hours. So gory, atmospheric and an original game. The intro was great too. But I never found an original in those days so nice to see this one.

And finally that original C64 looks in lovely condition. Steal for £10 and must be worth more than that.

Dry solder joint or bad cap or resistor maybe?

On another note, i swear my snes is getting more yellowed even though i have one of those grey carry cases, like someone posted a bit ago, which i keep it in :(

Maybe, but the Genesis version I have plays on a PAL system too.

For whatever reason Sega and/or Technosoft felt it was necessary to also release the game in Germany too. Similar to the Australian baseball games, the release was none other than the American Sega Genesis version, this time with an added manual.

Thunder Force III in Germany was distributed with a 'Deutsch Handbuch' as well as the standard American 'Instruction Manual'. The separate printing of this manual confirms its release in Europe, yet remains a rather questionable and confusing one at that. The game remains exactly the same, with no German language feature added.
