Retro console and games thread

That looks absolutely brilliant mate.

Cheers, got a parts sourcing problem at the moment, hopefully i can get some more bits shipped over from the US next month.

Last thing i did was fit the coin door (which i need to buy the proper security bolts and lock for):

that guy with the dc i wanted came back to me with a counter offer after i said i would pay £50 (more than reasonable)

he wants £80! not sure what planet he lives on.haha

Well in fairness I think the condition of the console is quite good with full packaging etc?
Perhaps there is some aspect of the price in there?

the condition is good yes but i think hes trying to boost the price with the other new items all of which you can get on the bay new for £5 a pop.

There's a boxed DC going on the famous auction site now

yeh and im hoping to get it....and i suspect id get it cheaper than £80! one went yesterday in amazing condition for £31 lost out in the dieng moments :(

I think the price premium for retro consoles shoots up when it comes in a box of good condition.

So the trick is to find a decent condition console and a decent condition box on ebay, put em together and sell for profit :)

£80 sounds like a rip.

I think I paid £40 for mine fully boxed with 3 controllers, 3 VMUs, 3 rumble packs, keyboard and ~20 games. :)

My best bargain of the last few days... Perfect Dark for the N64 complete and boxed for £2.20. :D

certain consoles even though rareish can still fetch peanuts i should know i used to buy and sell them for a living obn the bay ;)

markets and bootsales still best place for silly finds but a lot of prep work if you want to get the real finds and be on early.

bay used to be very good for bargins but a lot have wised up to the rarer stuff and a lot of tat and fake crap on there aswell.

a lot of boxes can be reprints and unoriginal.

there are different grades on stuff and very little things can make a hell of a difference to how much you pay.

best low to cheap games which still fetch decent money go for snes stuff. mega drive waste of time and games go cheap unless rare jap ones or just rare games which are rare not just titled rare :D

some ps1 games fetch big money but not many collect them.

anyone interested in snes should try american ebay ;) a lot of places have brand new smaller versions of the snes and new models or almost new and with shipping can be worth bringing over . same goes for games where you can get big buys of like 100 games in a bundles for 100 dollars sometimes from ex rental places and so on.

i used to have play consoles and then minters that wouldnt be touched.

Whats the Snes Mini like and do you have to use a step down or can you use a UK PAL snes plug?
