Retro console and games thread

It's not much at the moment, still doing some configs on the emulators.

I didnt know a "bartop" arcade cabinet exists like that. Very nice :)

Are there any tutorials online or some helping guides as to what kind of work is involved and as to how the hardware is mounted inside the cabinet etc? Do you stick everything into a HTPC affair or are all the gubbins installed directly into inside the cabinet case etc.

Would be nice to get more details :)

I will answer any questions asked and my thread over at Hyper Spin will be updated as soon as I have something new to offer :P

Anyway, theres not much tutorial needed as you just fit the components and configure HyperSpin. It's using a MaTX setup but I may move over to Mini ATX later.

Ask questions and I will try to help :D

Just uploading a new video now :)

Cabinet made of win :)

Is that the PC you are running it from on the left side in the picture? Can I ask how you going to fit it in the cabinet :) ?

It is but this is not the system I will be running it on, I am litterally just doing configs. I am currently putting together a system spec that will fit inside the cabinet. Something like a Micro ATX / Mini ATX system should work fine.

I spent last night looking at the tinyarcade website where you got that flatpacked arcade bartop from. It looks nice and neat. Concerning the monitor though, does the kit come with any mounting kit to neatly mount the monitor inside or is there still a bit more DIY to do? (Do you have to strip the LCD pane out of the case etc?)

Sweet Moses. I looked at the price thinking that was a buy it now price, but then saw a question in the auction asking if there was a buy it now price, and the owner stating he wants the auction to run...

£1100 with 5 days to go

Mario Balotelli must be bidding on it or something lol

Only negative is that it's not truly sealed, although the seller does make this clear, the title is a bit misleading. Saw one in worse condition go for 10k, I spoke to seller about this item and he said he was only expecting a few hundred and the price is making him so nervous that he's likely to drive it to the buyer regardless of where they live in the UK.

mrbell mate - dont suppose you could list all the materials/bits and pieces you are using? E.g. how you setting up the amp/speakers exactly? How you gonna wire them in?

any good places to get hold of nes/snes/megadrive games?

ebay has ruined finding decent bargains :( everyone just puts *RARE* in the title and adds a few digits onto the price even if there is hundreds on ebay

I go carbooting when the weathers good. In an attempt to find retro games. I mainly look for Sega stuff. Now and then I find old Atari stuff. Like I got my hands on an Atari 2600 woody last year.
