Retro console and games thread

Certainly, This is what my basic list consists of. If your building one from scratch it can cost between £250 - £50000. Depends what parts you already have and how fast you want the PC. Because these games are emulation games you don't need a high spec PC.

Parts I purchased.
- Outer Arcade Case (Flat Pack DIY)
- 19" TFT Screen (Not Widescreen)
- Motherboard, processor, memory, power supply.
- Arcade USB to iPac Controller Motherboard
- 2 Ball Top Joysticks, 14 Buttons,
- 2 arcade speakers + amplifier
- Decals, Vinyl, Artwork
- Cable Clips / Tie Wraps

mrbell mate - dont suppose you could list all the materials/bits and pieces you are using? E.g. how you setting up the amp/speakers exactly? How you gonna wire them in?

:D For the speakers and amplifier I just soldered wires from the terminals but will be changing them for crimps soon. :)

You are kidding me????

£1,110.00 & £2.50 postage

I would want some kind of insurance after paying that much - someone who pays that much for a snes game is a dope

for that price I would want it delivered by 3 naked 18 year old girls covered in syrup.. never mind insurance ;)

Love the fact it's advertised as being new and sealed but then admits it's been opened in the description...

It actually begs the question...

How does one know if its genuinel sealed... I mean how can one discern if someone who is trying to "counterfeit" (for a want of a better word) 'sealing' a game from the genuine article (assuming they put some thought into it of course).

Is a dope? What the hell does that even mean?

You understand that people look for years to try and find games like that. It has a price tag for a reason - because its a little on the rare side especially to find one in that condition.

Is this unsealed game really worth that much though.

a dope is about the same thing as a doofus for clarification

It is worth what anyone will pay for it but at the end of day you have a snes game, and a snes game is not worth and never has been nor will ever be worth £1100

Correct, it's probably worth over 5k.

Clearly it's worth whatever it sells for. I doubt there are more than a handful of copies in as good condition as that.

Are there any guides online you are using? Are you just building this from scratch? I ask because I wonder how you know what bits and bobs you need exactly.

Also does the cabinet itself have holes drilled in for mobos etc? Or do you have to do that yourself?

I just used a speaker cable, cut the end and crimped it. :D

EDIT: scrap that I'm going to have to purchase a Sound Bar. I'm getting too much interfearence to the amplifier causing feedback on scrolling.

I built it from scratch, there is no guides at present but it's basically flat pack. I had to drill holes for everything.
