Retro console and games thread

Just had a play with my Sega Saturn and Dreamcast. Both gorgeous and like brand new in boxes!

Is it me, or are DCs really loud?

I still have my Saturn somewhere, but I really wish I had kept my 2D beat 'em ups that I had begun collecting. :o

SFA2, X-men Children of the Atom etc. Best platform ever for those.

The PS3 store versions I've tried seem to be based on the PS1 versions of the games, which are distinctly poor in comparison.

Yeah, bought it the end of feb :(
I'm not sure but i don't want to risk getting a new power supply and have it blow because the console is faulty or vice versa. I was playing on it on thursday and it was fine then, no signs of any prolems at all

Yeah. :(

Will you be looking at getting a replacement or taking it up with the seller?

I've already found a replacement but i'm also taking it up with the seller. The console was advertised as working and it was, up until yesterday. Because of that, i'm not sure where i stand as regards to getting either a partial refund or them having the console back.

One thing i have noticed, most N64's seem to have a moulded plug on the power pack, mine definitely doesn't.

Yeah, difficult one really. It was working when you received it, and who knows, the seller might have bought it like that years ago and had it work fine all that time. :(

My N64 has a molded plug if it helps. Seems like yours was replaced at some point and someone didn't do it properly. :(

I think i may leave it to be honest, it's going to be difficult to prove especially since i replaced the plug when i found the dodgy wire inside. I've got a new console on the way thats boxed and complete to replace it anyway.

I completely forgot how fun blastcorps was! :D

It really needs re-releasing in a nice HD upgrade like they did with Perfect Dark

Been selling some old comics and noticed an advert for the SEGA 32x and Knuckles and Chaotix.

Was going to grab one of the bay but the game is going for £80! (close to double that with box/instructions/good condition)

I know the 32x had a very short lifespan because everyone knew Saturn, PSX and N64 were on the way - I guess that's why prices are steep.

What a great end to the day. I've bought a SNES from the bay for £32 delivered. Comes in original box with Street Fighter 2 and Super Mario World. Just need to grab a few games and then I can move onto buying a yellow gameboy!
