Retro console and games thread

Like I posted in reply to other guys comment, I was just looking for the DC VGA and the cheapest one was £26 delivered. So for that and the accessories alone should be worth it. If anything is faulty I'm guessing the consoles (already own one) and well I like repairing things also :)

I'm pretty close to getting access to members market so if any of the consoles work and you want to get rid of one :p

What's a good price for Zelda: Link to the past on the SNES? I can get one for £17 delivered.

unboxed just to play can be had from a fiver to ten boxed 10-20 normally i wouldnt pay more than a tenner myself and that would be for boxed version unless mint.

never by games at weekend ;) most people will go more on payday :p best time to sell aswell :D

just scored these for the princly sum of a handshake and a thankyou :D

the NES is immaculate and comes with 3 pads, two mint and one not so much, all the leads too so realy realy pleased with that. The megadrive is in pretty good nick comes with a pad wich is in good nick too but has no power adaptor so i need to get on the bay for one of them. The N64 comes with 2 pads all the leads and golden eye, its grubby as hell though so i need a screwdriver that fits its screws to strip it down and give it a really good clean, still pretty pleased with that.
looking like im going to have to spend some money on a snes but im gonna try and get one boxed, also a gamecube boxed too.

already had an earful off of the missus and i havnt even spent a penny yet, wait till i start buying mint condition mario 3's and the like :(

could always buy one of these ;)

plays mega drive games nes and snes games  not that dear either keep looking at baby mega drive 3s must resist !

Paid £17 buy it now unboxed but when you consider the £35-40 i'm use to paying its not too bad. If I complete it I can always sell it on.

The idea of that isn't bad but half the fun of playing the old games is having the original console they were made for as well

yeah i agree but sometimes a simple thing you plug in and play your collection on without blowing the carts is easier :p

i have all originals myself of what i have left but for convience machines like that are a simple solution also you dont damage a nice retro console :)

Won a Dreamcast, one controller, one VMU and five games for £15 + P&P and Shenmue for £15 inc P&P last night!

Not all good news though, the N64 I got wont work with the composite input on my monitor :(. It says something along the lines of "Out of Range" so I assume my monitor can't take take the signal. Going to try it with a TV a bit later on to see if it's the console or the monitor.

Yeah, it looks that way. Just tried the N64 on a TV and it works so it's definitely a monitor issue.

I'm on the lookout for Shenmue 2 as well but like you bidding has stopped for now as I've spent a fair amount.

You shouldn't need an old TV to get it to work, but I'd have thought your monitor doesn't support 50Hz mode or something like that.

Got mine linked up to my LCD TV and it upscales remarkably well. :)
