Retro console and games thread

Nice on on both of those Jaymond :D

I can't comment on the SNES console it's self but i've oddly seen Mario Kart alone sell for £25 boxed!

The Megadrive is a steal, the seller will be a bit miffed to say the least lol :p

I hope the sale goes forward. I will be in the area to collect it too...on Thursday/Friday, I'm actually nervous now.

At the end of the day it's his stuff, but isn't he legally obliged to sell if I pay via PayPal?

I did see a Super Mario All Stars SNES package in mint condition sell for £123 under completed listings...doesn't guarantee that everytime a auction will go that highly though.

lol I'm just worried about the atmosphere that's all. It's not nice for them as a seller though.

But that is the danger of 99p starts, non progression....

Has he agreed to cash on collection then? Just wondering whether the high postage fee was his way of covering himself....

I messaged the seller, going to see what he says, if theres a refusal to sell it, then all I can do is pay via PayPal and click the collection option...then after a while open a case...

I'd be guessing the £12 fee for delivery is due to a low start...even HDNL would deliver it for £7.14 inc or Hermes *Yuck* for under a fiver.

I never find steals like that, as for collecting in person lol, imagen having to hand over a megadrive bundle for 99p. are you going to ask for your 1p change :D

Lol via PayPal he'd only get 70-80p after all fee's taken in to account

Collecting in person is £0 delivery ofcourse :p

if you split and everythings good may make 5 or ten :D

I'm hoping to 2-3x the price. Or just keep it forever and a day :p

Just ran into my own ebay related issue, got a copy of AC: Brotherhood for £2.20 (P&P a further £1.99) paid for the item now the seller wants to re-list as he wants more (I've already paid for the item)

What shall I do stick to my horses and open a case if needed? I'm certainly not paying the £15 Buy it Now price he wants for it!

once you've won the auction its a legally binding contract. He legally has to send you the item.

Well I spoke to him telling him I would never pay £15 for it even though it is sealed and that because he put no reserve on the item and I've sent payment I expect him to fulfil his end of the sale. He's agreed to post the game tomorrow so I guess I'll wait and see.....

picked up a few more additions, not exactly retro as its all last gen but i picked up a 4gamers lightgun for ps1 and some ps2 games along with time crisis 2 & 3, wwe HCTP as ive always been a fan of the older arcade style wrestling games... dont like the pace of SvR and super smash brothers melee for the gamecube as ive heard a lot of good things about it... been on it for 30 mins or so and its ok but im going to have to get used to it as it all seems a bit random at the moment.

bit dissapointed as i was hoping this update would include a mint boxed NES but the shop that has it in has just told me he cant get it to power up which is dissapointing but is good for my wallet

If the seller says the items are no longer available as they perhaps broke, got lost, weren't tested and are now faulty, or any other reason they "could" come up with it won't be easy getting the items.

But no need to be nervous, you've done nothing wrong.
