Will do, the megadrive was more for the kids to play with though, so not in great condition.
I know it's not Retro (just yet) but when I repost in a few years from now, hopefully it'll be much, much larger

Got some lovely little pick-ups today,just had to be bought for the price.The local boot sale around here always has old console bits and pieces on, i am sure they come from the local tip because the lads that sell them just have box's full of tat,but sometimes you can get some bargains and the just sell them for silly prices as you will see
Playstation was £3 boxed with all the leads and even the sealed bag with all the instructions and warranty stuff,also has a boxed mem card and has one of those cheat box things,which i am sure has been used to play backups because there is a spring on the back hinge.
I got the playstation joystick for another £3 and inside the box was a multi tap aswell so double bargain.
Then another guy had this in a carryier bag for £3 , another gamecube !

Was rummaging through my girlfriends wardrobe the other day and came across a SNES Street Fighter 2 edition console box... no SNES console in sight, but inside the console box there was about 10 games, some boxed (all bashed), some not boxed, but all cartridges in pretty decent condition. Games included Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat 2 & 3, Donky Kong, Mario All-Stars so some decent games...
Now, I've never owned a SNES myself before and I'm considering buying one now just to see what I missed out on... is there anything obvious to look out for or beware of when buying a SNES?

I remember buying this box set from my local ChipsWorld when it was first released, and then trading it in about 3 weeks later for about £15 worth of credit... oh how I regret doing that now!

Not many moving parts inside a SNES, so not much to go wrong, try and find a nice clean one....most have probably turned the horrible biege colour unless they've been kept inside the packaging...must be plenty for sale.
You'll want the scart connector if possible, not the horrible old skool RF lead.
Also the pads used limit switched that will/can wear out, so decent pads are a must.
I always had it in my mind to keep this edition, purchased it from Raven Games in Beckenham (Kent) back in the day, would have purchased the standard version, but they had sold out, only had this one left which was about a tenner more.

playstation works a charm that i picked up today,managed to get the game that was in the drive working with that smart cartridge cheat thing ,gamecube works aswell

Picked up a PSP in the GAME sale, brand new for £30 really chuffed. Not exactly retro but all I've been playing on it are SNEs and PS1 games!! Loving playing Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 again!

I dont suppose if anyone knows if there is such a thing as a dreamcast hdmi cable thats been hacked up?
1000 Posts is a lot especially when you only get involved in a few threads.Not happy I am missing that thread
The only way I know of doing this would be to get a Dreamcast VGA box and use a VGA to HDMI converter. It's not cheap and not all games will work with it.

Actually Im not sure whether my tv has a vga socket, ill have a look when i get home. Scart lead I got with my dreamcast doesnt work and the composite lead looks awful.
