There not really they were bought out by Infogrames years ago and Infogrames then used the Atari name. Somebody else will probably buy the name, its too well known a name to let it vanish.

I have! Infact, I anticipated its release for months, asking in-store for updates. I was really interested in all of that stuff back then.

popped into the local charity shops today when i was waiting for dentist appointment and i got the game i have been wanting for ages for the gamecube but keep putting myself off buying it on ebay.

I've got my MVS board now but I can't seem to get a picture (or sound). The board is getting power as indicated by an LED and there is a flicker to the screen as it turns on. I've tried two different carts and I've tried with the 1st dip switch down which I believe should take it into the setting menu. I can't try another TV until tomorrow at the earliest so I can't rule my TV out yet. I've double checked all the connections so I'm not sure where I'm going wrong?
I'm using scart block to scart block and then just using the yellow wire from the Supergun to the TV. For the sound I'm using the 3.5mm jack into the scart block at the TV end.
well I just done some research for the shake of it. I was one of the foolish people that paid a premium for my so called limited edition 'silver' fat playstation 2, only for sony to what I believe bend me over backwards and mass release it a few months later.
Well, after looking into it, my limited edition is limited to 10,000. The box which I believe I still have both of them, says 'silver' and not 'satin silver' like the common release and the model number is totally different, as it carries the normal model number of the black releases and not the special satin silver serial number which as SS on the model number.
I don't feel so bad now as it may be worth something in future.. so if you have one it might be worth holding on to it, or better still trash it so mind will be worth more in about 40 years time.

Ahh, worth a try. Don't have one myself but know that arcade stuff usually uses RGB so thought it might be that. I know some LCDs are a bit iffy about console RGB output as my Mega Drive has a very very slight wobble on the top of the image that doesn't happen on my CRT.
Cracked it. I used another TV and this one was showing a z80 error on-screen which my other TV did not. Did a quick read - it said it could be a chip error of just dirty contacts and as this was working in a cab I cleaned up all the contacts and success. Plugged it back into my CRT and still working. But it will only work with a normal scart cable, so my idea of sending the sound to a scart block looks dead but that's okay as I do intend on plugging it into some PC speakers.

Yeah I get no sound through scart. The audio is amazing through some nice PC through.
Have your PSU got a switch on the back to turn it on and off?? If so then that switch will allow you to turn the MVS board on and off using that switch, as I got a PSU with a switch on the back and I use that as a on and off switch for the MVS system.
Otherwise hotwiring a switch into it should allow you to use it as a on/off. I use a supergun like you as well.
Yes it does have a switch but once you turn it off it won't come back on again without pulling out the 20 pin and putting it back in again. There is a switch on the Supergun but to use it you would have to wire the green cable plus a ground to it so I thought it would just be easier to hotwire.
Neo Geo X Production discontinued rumor. Can't say I'm that surprised tbh.
Not surprising but could mean it holds it's value for those that have bought it.
Made a cheap fix for my power button for my MVS; Still getting the z80 error a lot though. It was a cheap board and I believe the chip can be replaced if I can source one.
And a few charity shop finds.
