Retro console and games thread

Been car booting again today, first one I went to was disappointing. Did see a super game boy and some gb and snes games, but they already sold the snes. Looking at the games, the snes would have been in good condition too.

Popped into another one on the way back, and there was a playstation, he wanted 5 but dropped down to 4 himself. I said I have a walk round first as it was the first store. Decided to pick it up on the way out, as I thought the controller and cable was worth the 4 pounds. The console is chipped, so I don't have to use my modded ps2 now. It's been though some hardship, as there's yellow paint inside but it works fine before I stripped it down to clean it.

I picked up metal slug anthology for 15 pounds on the ps2 and spatter house on the ps3 for 8 pounds, I know spatter house is not retro but it comes with the original three games.

Got my playstations linked up for a bit of doom action not the best setup but it works if no cheating ;)


and also picked up some games off the carboot for a £1 a piece non retro but for that price i had them all:

 
I hit up local booty today too. Got monster hunter tri for wii, ps1 porsche challenge and ps2 buzzer set and psone pad for 4 quid....cool be worse

Those ps3 games are awesome! !! Envious as need tekken 6 to complete my tekken collection :)

just picked up metal gear solid peace walker for £3 from a girl at work. She just brought a psp and some games, but had to copies of peace walker. So I offered to buy it of her. She said £2.50 and I said you can have £3 as I didn't have the change.

looking on flebay its quite the deal I got. Thou I have a psp, its actually my first game for it. lol

Finally got my harvest moon (£11.51) today and my sheep, dog n wolf (£10) both of ebay.. :)
Think I'm going to plant some veggies tonight on harvest moon, rather than frag some american kids online.

I bought a Gametel bluetooth gamepad and am quite happily playing Zelda III again on my commute each day on my SGS2 :D

Just finished off REmake after getting to the lab about a year ago and just not playing it. They give you far too much ammo for the Magnum, had 42 bullets at one point :o.
 
Here's a question... For those who play on a flat screen tv.

Do you play in the original 5:4 format or have it on wide screen?

I got an original playstation and for some odd reason games look better on that than on the ps2 and ps3 (EDIT: possible console emulation issues?). I'm wondering if its worth getting the av to component cable for the ps and ps2.

So in general what hook up are you using to play your retro games on a modern day tv?

yeah join the club......that place is BAD!

my Saturn collection has jumped from 3 games to 15 in last week.....went a bit nuts lol
