Retro console and games thread

I paid quite a bit for a Final Fantasy Anthology, with the disc, manual and case all stated as good on ebay. No one is ever in when the postman calls, so if I ever have the chance I would always ask for stuff to be sent via normal post and not recorded. Come on; honest people... how often does a game from online retail disappears during the post.

Anyway, I had to pay extra for recored delivery, no one was in so it went to the post office. When I finally got the game the case was so smashed up, during delivery as all the bits was still in the package. which isn't normally an issue but there's a final fantasy sticker on this case.

Well who's to blame? me for not being in to sign for it, royal mail for handling it incorrect? or the seller for not packaging it well enough? Its just one of them things, 90% of the games I have for the ps1, seems to have some sort of delivery damage if from ebay. I should really invest in some replacement cases but those would likely get damaged too.

It would be great if there was a 3rd party plastic case that would fit the playstation 1 inlays without damaging them.

Don't know why I have not posted in here yet!

I recently picked up a refurbished (new plastics and outer screen case) Gameboy Advance SP AGS-101 model.

It's just like new, not a scratch on it due to the new plastics and is awesome!

My game collection is a little... Focused haha. Mostly RPG's or adventure games:

Castlevania
Legend of Zelda
Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past + Four swords
Super Mario Advance 4 (Mario Bros 3)
Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga
Pokemon Fire Red
Bomberman Tournament
Golden Sun
Golden Sun Lost Age

I have only played a few games, touched others just to see they work! But at the moment, my focus is on Golden Sun and Castlevania. I sunk a few hours into Minish Cap but I will pick that up after completing one of the 2 I'm playing at the moment.

It's the perfect travel companion. I walk to work with a train journey mid way. And nothing beats whipping out a gameboy for a bit of gaming first thing in the morning :)

The console it's self is spectacular, the back lit screen is a god send in dull light conditions. However, when compared to my mates GBA in direct sunlight conditions. His was easily more visible! But the colours and vividness heavily demolish the lacking screen of the GBA.

Battery wise, I managed to clock around 15 hours from 1 charge, mixture of normal and bright settings (both settings have the backlight on, just different levels). It's small and easy to hold. The flip screen is amazing. I have no fear of the screen getting scratched. The only way it will is me being clumsy! Not from sitting in my bag.

I will get some pictures tonight.

Overall, I am VERY happy with my purchase and have certainly got my moneys worth. Oh and all but 1 (Golden Sun Lost Age) of my games are genuine!

That is the one I bought, seller is great at comms as I pre arranged for it to be delivered to a girls house in Rutherford, Jersey City of whom I was staying with a week later. Seller was really nice to deal with.

As I said, the plastics are not original but the console it's self is pretty much brand new because of the new plastics. Screen is immaculate and is a genuine AGS-101 model.
