Retro console and games thread

In addition to post 5000....

Today I bought this..........
I have no need for a spare Megadrive but it came with it. I am just pleased I have a barely used Mega CD in the box with all cables. I do need instructions though.

Nice pickup, I'm eager to pick up a MD/CD combo as well, but a Japanese HAA 2510 set. Make sure you now get Final Fight CD!

Take a look in here every now and than - theirs some nice memoirs (earth worm jim lol) been a while since I fired up my snes but im getting tempted (even tempted by some of my old ps 1 games tbh...maybe I'm officially getting old lol)

I love retro kit so many memories. Just can't justify buying any at the moment. Would love a sega collection mastersystem, mega drive, Saturn, dreamcast no room, have to wait till my son has moved out. ( he is two)

Below is my little nintendo stuff I've bought over the past few months, black pocket is my love although I do like the originals yes I play tetris! (mostly while in queues on wow).

They mostly all get use apart from the pockets really :D just bought some import custom cases and back light stuff to mod an original cant wait for it to arrive.

Nice collection there Evil!

Yikes, didnt know Mega CD cost that much now. Only paid £12.50 for my fully boxed 3 years ago off eBay.

Megadrive and SNES items you struggled to give away a few years ago!
They have suddenly started going for daft money, although my game collection only started a few years ago so I'm as guilty of fuelling the fire as everyone else.

Its because us lot who owned Snes / mega drives as kids are hitting out 30's and 40's with too much disposable income, its why I set pretty strict limits on what I buy and so it generally takes me ages to get the games I want.

However because of that I have probably spent about £200 on £800 - £1000 worth of Snes stuff, its what stops the gf asking questions as I tell her its an investment, I just don't tell her that I'll never sell it :P

At last my SNES SNS 101 has arrived!!!! The copy of Megaman X is mine from back in the day, my brother had the original fat US SNES but we each had some games. Luckily I still have the box and all the bits but sadly most of the games we had are all knock-offs because we used to live in south-east asia at the time.

The console was filthy when I received it but it scrubbed up nicely with very little cosmetic wear. Now I just need to get the RGB mod added and maybe an LED. Dam Nintendo always skimping out on things. Not sure which game to get now, Zelda A Link to the Past or Secret of Mana, I can only afford one at the moment....

A Link To The Past. No contest really.

Yeah thats the one I'm leaning towards, I hear Mana is amazing but after playing it a bit on an emulator I'm struggling to get into it. I have seen a boxed copy on the bay which is a "reasonable" price considering what it normally goes for these days but I'm not so sure, maybe I'll hold out for Zelda ah decisions decisions.

I really wish I got some of these games back in the day, I remember seeing those Mega Man X2-3 games in stores back in Singapore when I was a kid, who knew they would now go for hundreds of pounds each today :(

Nice little collection :)

Thanks, I have a small Sega one too but cant have it out as nowhere to have it :( Try my best to get the black versions of the handhelds though ran into a block with the color thought trying to find a third party case.

Recently redid a gamegear managed to crack the lcd though when fixing a dead line across the screen :( debating to go for another as really its not a gear handheld....

Been incredibly slack recently, but finally got round to doing some wiring on my MVS.

No sound yet or controller ports yet and the wiring could use a *little* tidying up, but at least I know she works :D
