Retro console and games thread

from what i remember, Super ghouls looked better and you had stuff like double jump but ghouls on the mega drive you could shoot up and down and i always though the music was better on the mega drive.

But yeah, both hard as nails :p
 
I had a nice surprise today. It's my birthday on Friday and this arrived in the post today. I was thinking, wow.. I never ordered one of these! My wife said it was for my birthday! She must have been listening when I was harking on about picking one up.

She let me check it over, but I can't have it now till Friday. She is awesome.

Its a PC Engine Core GRAFX. These don't do RGB as standard, but I've already ordered the parts to rectify that hahaha :D

So excited to play some Super Star Soldier

 
Ghouls and Ghosts is a one of my 4 - 5 remaining Snes games I really want but its going for silly money these days so doubt I will have any luck.

added a bit to my collection now

had a dreamcast from some months now, picked up a sega saturn last week and deep very kindly gave me a master system 2. Only need a mega drive, mega cd and 32x and I will have the sega collection I really wanted
 
This might interest those of you who have Amiga CD32's! EAROK on EAB has been converting Amiga games to CD32 playable ones and some even have extra features ;)

Get it for the PS2 in Capcom Classics if you can mate, its the arcade rom.. for the price of the cart you should be able to pickup a console and the game.
 
I had a mate install a switchless mod in mine and someone else adjusted the cart slot on a spare top I had and installed a wider flap so can play US and JNTSC games fine, never thought about grabbing a cheap Japanese version but I guess with Ghouls n Ghosts theres no real need for english.
 
Wooo! just had an email from the seller saying my spectrum has been collected from her :D

Should have it this time tomorrow!

So the speccy arrived and its in really good nick! :D System looks brand and the box has done very well being so its been in the loft for 22 years lol

Ah nostalgia, I had a James Bond 128k Bundle, was gutted when mice destroyed the box in the loft, I was pretty young but I mostly remember the Hollywood box set which comprised of Robocop, Ghostbusters 2, Iandiana Jones and Batman, so many hours and hours spent.... watching their loading screens :P

Gives me a reason to pull my CD32-SX32 out of the storage locker.

Well... other than continuing to play Liberation: Captive II
