Retro console and games thread

Not a console game as such, but just wanted to show the one game I really have kept in good condition:

I'm still waiting to find a cheap version of king of fighters 95 with ram cart, keep finding them with "missing" RAM cart.....how do you lose it!!!!

The Jap version with ROM cart seems pretty cheap (there's a £15 BIN on ebay), I'm guessing the PAL release is fairly uncommon?

Yeah I am also unsure whether you can run the jap version on uk console. The included ram cart actually contains portion of game to drop load times so cant use action replay cart like xmen vs street fighter :(

My bad. Me gotst confused. :o

Shenmue was indeed Dreamcast. Epic game, though.

To be fair it was originally intended for the Saturn and there is a tech demo showing it running the first area of the game. Looks decent as well for a Saturn game considering the consoles rather unique architecture.

yeah that comes on the DVD with Shenmue 2 on Xbox doesnt it?

Looks incredible for what would have been a saturn game.....imagine how many CD's it would have come on lol

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. You must be cautious.

Never had a problem, think that they have a trusted traders thread these days.

I have bought loads of stuff without an issue. I admit there are some sketchy beggers on there too though

I just mean there are some seriously scummy creatures on there, if you pay goods you can't really go wrong but I still feel like I'm catching something just being on there...

thought I would share these links for anyone who doesnt know them. easily the best 2 places for everything retro cables

http://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/

http://www.consolegoods.co.uk/

Purchase from them both and they are spot on companies with great products :)

Going to get Spectrum +2 and Megadrive 2 scart cables ordered up on Payday

That reminds me, never did get around to picking up a scart cable for my Gamecube. My MD2 scart was from retro gaming cables, gives a great picture, even on my 37" lcd (wish i had room for a nice big crt though :()

So gaming wise, today's been a big kick in the ********!

My new Neo Geo MVS turned up to replace my faulty board.

Got it all wired up and the damn thing has the same fault as my old board, no sound!
I'm asking around for help, because I can't believe I've been this unlucky.

Anyway, some other bits and bobs that have turned up recently, shame I can't play them properly.

And it was going to be on 7 or 8 discs  One of the reasons Sega moved the development to the Dreamcast.

Bugger :( I have no experience with the Neo Geo so I can't help you but I hope you get it fixed so you enjoy your games. It's a bummer when you get a "new" system to play with and there is a fault with it. My NES was the same, out of 12 attempts it would only load the game 5 times. Took it back hoping for a repair, but the shop said they couldn't do anything with it. Interestingly it is back up for sale?!

7-8 discs  I thought 3-4 was bad enough for the DC version.

It's a shame that at least a playable demo wasn't released for the Saturn. It highlighted that the console wasn't as weak as many were saying it was.
