Retro console and games thread

I haven't posted in here in a while but I got somewhat lucky yesterday:

(Ignore the two PS4 games on the left).

Fur Fighters: Viggo's Revenge and Destroy All Humans. Two games I have been after for a while.

Also picked up Futurama & Dead or Alive: Ultimate.

Had a good go on Futurama last night and boy was it hard. Mechanics wise it is a easy 3rd person shooter / platformer but the camera and collision detection (or character movement, couldn't tell which TBH) made precision jumps a right pain in the rear. Sadly you have to do a few of these onto moving targets... I died a lot!

OK guys so forgive my ignorance here but is there a device I can buy to hook up to my HDMI in on my pc monitor to connect my old consoles to?

I want to connect N64 - Snes - Sega Megadrive etc.

Dug the PS2 out the loft for my 8 year old and he's hooked on GT4

A guy at work is offering a PS2 to replace my current one thats struggling reading sometimes and also a game cube.

Any ideas of a price I should offer for them?

It depends a lot on condition, extras, whether or not it's got the box etc, ultimately it's how much he thinks they're worth.

I'd put an offer in for £20.00 for the pair and go from there.

I finally got a legit copy of Blazing Star for the MVS, its in really nice condition overall and very happy to be able to play the original in all its glory.

My fledging MVS collection in NeominiBoxes, I'm slowly building them up, at least the multicart lets me take my time :) Windjammers and Ninjamasters are next!

This setup, going through scart and upscaled via hdmi makes master system games look amazing!

It also means I can get a few MS game cards as well now.

has anyone connected the Wii (1st gen) to HDMI ?
or shall I just use the composite lead?

I bought one of the £10 HDMI blocks from ebay. It does work and upscales as best it can the 480p outputted image from the wii. The composite looks nasty in comparison in my opinion so its a good option. Best pic quality is still component if your screen has it though

Got given a ps2 slim today which was cool, mem card, 1 ds2 pad and a wireless 3rd party

Forgot how tiny those consoles were:)
