Retro console and games thread

There's loads of answers for this question. 2 of the most commercially successful formats of all time so a massive library to choose from...

...Hope that helps.

Thanks for the massive list, that was very useful and loads of games to check out!

My new faceplate arrived today. I went from this...

It was £8 on ebay. The screen isn't perfect by any means but it is a big improvement. The LCD underneath is in perfect condition luckily. The new plate is also noticeably more flimsy that the original legit faceplate so I'll have to look after it!

Just tried some games on there through the browser and the 'emulator' had a **** fit and didnt work so its a bit rough round the edges.

Some things work but a lot of titles are missing.

Thanks, I'm really happy with the SNES it's a real minter. My last one was the worst shade of yellow.

I don't normally go for Wiis but with Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy and about 5 controllers, all for £40 I couldn't say no really. Wind Waker is one of my favourite games, so I'm really looking forward to giving SS a whirl.

I put a load of my doubles / not to fussed over and stuff that I picked up as excess in bundles on ebay few nights ago.

All sold for £170 + postage so that was pretty cool :)

Was that auction? I've sold a few bulk lots on eBay in the past, usually masses of PS1 and PS2 games and they always fetch a decent price.

That reminds me, I've got a floor to ceiling pile of FIFAs and Gran Turismos and other crap titles on the PS1 I need to get rid of. :p

Oooh Gran Turismo !
I might be up for buying some of those off you!

seeing these old consoles and some of the familiar game covers is a real trip down memory lane.

i wish i kept my ps2 now...im sure the ps1 and mega drive are still boxed away somewhere.

Yep I started it at 160 and did a 24 hour auction

Just ordered a raspberry pi to have a mess with retro pie for some gaming/trying before i buy etc

I'm waiting for the release of Retropie 4 as just never managed to get 3.8 working smoothly. I know it can work really well but I just could n't seem to work it out, will try again with 4.
