Retro console and games thread

Sega Saturn MK1 with controller and TV lead, is about what these days £30 ?

seen this, but I think the games are copies?

Looks like the pictures of the games are showing the picture side and the readable side of the disks. Probably to show there's no scratches on the disks.

There's a good chance of Saturn's going up in price now that the copy protection has been cracked and the possibility of flash drives making it onto the market.

Picked these up recently.

That completes my Final Fantasy on PlayStation 2 now.

Games I'm the look out for are Spyro 1 and Crash Bandicoot 1. £30 everywhere I look.. To be expected though! The search continues.

Still cannot find that racing game for PS1 I've been thinking of the name of for months now.

Top down, Shoot 'em up destruction. Micro Machines play style with a gritty urban setting. NOT 3D.

I've tried a few reddits but nothing. Youtube brings back nothing. Every racing on PS1 lists bring back.. nothing! grrr.

Road kill, road <something>, Crash <something>. Is all I can think of.

My JDM Mega Drive, Super Famicom and Neo Geo are in country! Awaiting Parcel Force ransom note for customs. Should have them in hand by Tuesday.

Console looks nice and clean. Games look genuine to me, they aren't worth much alone as they are petty common.

thanks :)

Trying to source one for without games for the likes of £20, but seem to be more than that
I might as well get one with games I guess

also thinking about getting 2, 1 UK and 1 JAP lol

I've actually put a bid on for an untested one (has no leads , cables, controllers etc) hoping to get that for a fiver

Might be cheaper to get a UK machine and an Action Replay cartridge for playing imports. It will also double as a 4MB for the games that use it.

There are a few limitations with the Action Replay card, some games don't run well at 50 Hz, and of course your not getting the benefit of 60 Hz. You can't use Rom cards (afaik).

If you were looking to play imports a converted machine maybe worth looking out for. The ability to switch 50/60 Hz and play imports without using up your cart slot is nice. They do appear on the bay from time to time, you will have to pay more, but probably no more expensive than buying 2.

Didn't think of that.

I remember seeing a video on YouTube about the Action Replay allowing you to play imports. But thinking about it, the video was created by an American, so the 60hz issue wouldn't have been an issue for him.

I've actually had this on my watch list.

I don't think I'm ready for a Saturn just yes, let alone getting into Saturn import games.

Yup, I can't see the switch in the photo, but it's a bit of a grey area selling modified consoles on eBay even though it's only region 50/60 Hz conversion. So they may be being a bit careful. :)

(Edit, it looks like he's sold similar consoles with positive feed back, so looks good)

JENNIDC YOU DIAMOND. OMG.

That is it!!! thank you sooo much. I didn't think it was on Amiga. <3

*hugs* I have been searching for that for so many years!!

Weird thing is I only remember having a PS1 then, with Smackdown, and I definitely played that game. I don't recall owning a Cd32..

Amiga 1200 is what I need a think, for the disks yes? I didn't have Cd's back then.

Edit: Found an Amiga 1200 for £85 with power supply, tv cable, joystick and mouse, good deal? Only 1 left.

Sod it, ordered.

Brother picked up Toy Story for the Mega Drive, but without a box, so he needs me to sort him out with a UGC.

Not having much luck finding a decent scan, can anyone help me out? A 600dpi scan would be fantastic.
