Retro console and games thread

Trying to get back into DC and Saturn collecting now that I have the space to do it, and getting the consoles is priority number 1.
Is it me or have prices just shot up drastically compared to a few years ago, im seeing boxed DC's going for around £80 now. Insane.

Well now I feel I have to buy it!

What sort of game is it? Looks like a side scrolling shooter/platformer?

Prices range from £15 to 30 on fleebay obviously inflated compared to what it may actually be worth

Yep, side scroller shooter (though not with guns)

Very much like other side scrollers at the time but this one stood out for me.

Maybe worth using "other" methods to try before you buy. I found the controls a bit fiddly when I tried it. It was a game that I missed during the original Mega Drive days.

I believe it has had a HD remake on PS4 and or PC.

Right I want a small TV for my Commodore 64, I'm using my 32inch TV on a desk, and have to sit with it on lap.. quite awkard with a joystick on a game case lol. any small flat LCD would do right? saving space and all. Just needs RCA/Scart.

Question about GameCube to HDTV

Basically I have an RGB scart cable for the cube, however I wouldn't mind playing it downstairs for a bit but I only have a hdtv with hdmi down here

So is there a cheap tacky converter I could get? Like scart to hdmi converter?
Thanks

Small story to tell.

We've just put our house up for sale and had to clear as much out of the rooms as we could for the photographs etc. Ended up moving my little generation station out of the living room and into the conservatory for a few days. Anyway.. I moved it back in to the living room yesterday and while setting it all back up I was testing each console one by one.

I set up my Gamecube and switched it on but it wouldn't pick up any discs :( I feared the laser had gotten damp inside it and was no longer working. Left it overnight and tried it again this morning. ALL WORKING AGAIN :D

Lesson learned. Don't leave consoles exposed to cold/damp areas in the house.
