I'm currently in the process of building a new pc that I'll use as a windows, steam os and retro console. Depending on the mood or needs.

I really like the idea of having multiple boots to cater for different rooms when it gets moved about.

So I'd love some advice on maybe Batocera or something else.
How it all works etc anything is helpful but I want a separate boot for it

i use coinops next as a front end and have my collection on an external usb harddisk, that way i can plug it into any pc

i just need a small number of bits and bobs i have to install on the pc at the time which are also on the harddisk

Oo cool.
So the general advice here is not a separate boot into.

Would this be all windows based? Or would it be to add something to steam os build

in the future i can see me moving away from windows IF MS start charging subs.

steam OS is improving all the time with compatibility , however, so long as all my games do not work on it, and i am NOT paying a sub for windows, personally i just stick with windows.

I dont see the point in splitting my (fairly small) high performance boot M2 drive for something i dont need.

retrogames do not need a fast harddisk hence why for me, putting on a usb 3 drive (for me a HDD but could be a stick if your prefer) is fine.
