Just looking to compare how much my new Sammy monitor (due tomorrow) cost me with how much I paid for my Sammy 172X when it was new.

I dug out my old Overclockers invoice from 2005. Wow, you get quite a bit more for your £££ nowadays!! It was a pretty nice spec at the time and replaced an overclocked Celery 266 (to 400) on a BH6 mobo.

I'm pretty much still running this spec, with a few minor tweaks. Bring back any memories for anyone??

"Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 3100" I'm still rocking this. Even though I had to break out the solder to fit a new battery on the mouse.

Motherboard, processor, graphics and windows, not much difference. Wheres the ram? LCD's are cheaper now due to manufacturing costs.

I paid £900 for a 286 in 1991 and £76 for 1Mb ram upgrade in 1992. :)

Floppy drive, man, that takes me back. A bunch of downloaded classic 90's nudes on a disk marked "geography homework" from the days when internet way pay per minute :D

Oh god pay per minute internet, that was awful

Especially given that it took several minutes for a website to load back then!

RAM was bought from another source in Mar 2005:

Product : Quantity : Price
1Gb DDR RAM PC3200/PC4400 G.Skill TCCD Dual Channel kit F1-3200DSU2-1GBLE : 1 : 294.00

Subtotal : 294.00
TOTAL : 294.00

Just look how memory has come down in price!!

Just a few years later, I found another 6800GT on eBay for running SLI on my LanParty. I won the auction for £5.50 and the postage was six quid!

I got another pair of GSkill sticks secondhand as well, but can't find the receipt for those - probably inexpensive. This TCCD was the bomb for memory when it was current. The best overclocking stuff available IIRC...

I can't find the receipt for my Celeron/BH6 rig. Shame!
