Retrofit xenons to Mk4 Golf?

I looked at it, more expense than it's worth IMO.

Pick up a set of genuine headlights secondhand your looking a best part of£300 or £500 new then you have to get all the ancillaries you'd be talking well over a grand for new parts all in probably around £500 secondhand they are awesome though had factory xenons on my old 4mo

Yeah it does seem to be a bit pricey for the benefit. Especially when those Nightbreakers are <£20 and I've yet to try them!

As above really. HIDs are frowned upon on here i'm sure as well. I wouldn't bother and just get some Ozzy Nightbreakers.

Thanks for the tip.

The headlights on my mk4 are amazing. Whats wrong with yours?

Nothing, they're just not very bright :p

Wrong, MOT states:

A car with HID lights MAY also have headlight washers and self levelling which must be checked and in working order if fitted.

You'll only fail if your car came with washers and levelling and they are no longer working.

If you are thinking to go HID I recommend you search morimoto h1. TRS sell them and if you're willing to bake your headlights open they are a really easy to fit, and will give a brilliant Bi-xenon beam! No cutting or modding involved!

Ahh good info, I thought they were required. Will probably try upgrading the current ones, at £20 I can just go for it and keep the old ones as spares ;)
