Retrofitting trickle vents to windows…or install PIV?

Over the last couple of years we have gone round internally insulating all the rooms in our 1920’s house. It’s now much warmer than it used to be and needing the dehumidifier much less. We still get a bit of posture overnight if we don’t have the windows open slightly, but that often lets a lot more cold air in than we like.
Trickle vents were going to be my next step - is that right or should I bite the bullet and install PIV unit?

A PIV surely has to be the best choice.
Oh it is for sure. Just weighing it up as we’ve had to pull up floor boards in two bedrooms in the last few months due to woodworm. Attacking the ceiling feels a bit much to tackle right now!

Does you window have the "night latch"/ventilation lock position? If it does then installing trickle vents probably an unnecessary expense.

Worth noting that trickle vents also lower the soundproofing on windows as you essentially remove some of the sound deadening properties by having a hole in the frame to the outside. The effect will be dependant on what the outside noise (cars, road noise etc) is like. IN the middle of nowhere vs a busy road outside.

I had a PIV in old house and tbh I'd rather install trickle vents in retrospect. (this was near 10 years ago I installed the PIV)
