Hi guys.. not bought a soundcard in years, think the last one was an SB16 back in the day! Been using onboard for years now, however I feel I might be letting my tasty Altec Lansing THX (Linky ) kit down a bit. What would be a good complement to these black beauties? It's only 2.1 really, so I don't need a whole lot of connections, but something that would produce a good signal for them would be nice.

At that sort of price point speakers you probably wont notice much difference between onboard and a decent card.

If you're determined to upgrade though the E-MU 0404 PCI is a great card to go for at around £60 - having proper phono and spdif connectors, a decent DAC and ASIO support.

agree with this, no point in a high end soundcard with them speakers, stick with onboard.
