Hi all, just got my PS3 up and running again after nearly 2 years away from it :( what have i missed?

Anything I should get app wise for it that you 'must have'? If I was to get a single game for it what should it be?

Media wise have they started supporting MKV's or do I have to convert everything still?

Anything else?
 
I've just sold my 360 to get a ps3 again. Got Uncharted 3 and Dragons Dogma both awesome games so far although got a weird problem with Uncharted which is kinda ruining it for me.

Didn't know you could download apps?
 
Get yourself a PS+ subscription, which will give you Batman Arkham City and several other games to get you going, as well as more games each month.

Also, at the time of typing, Journey and The Unfinished Swan are on offer as a double download for a tenner, which is worth it for Journey alone (and at the very least must be a contender for download game of the year).

Sleeping Dogs is good if you want a GTA style game, Sine Mora if you want a side scrolling shoot-em-up, or Retro/Grade if you want a music rhythm game that looks like a shoot-em-up in reverse (I guess you have to see it really).

Just a few ideas to chew over anyway.

What he said ^ PS+ is a cracking deal and will give you a couple of games each month for less than one full price title.
 
if you havent picked them up yet definatly get Dark & Demons souls, best 2 games this generation so far.

Why didn't you keep both? Wouldn't that have cost less in the long run?
 
Thanks for the reply, maybe you can't get apps lol... its been so long! Will have to look at ps+ and what's it about.

Game wise I have COD:MW, Black ops, Farcry 2, GTA 4, GT 5, think that's it really. Other than games anything new happened?

Probably, I have both now though, its cause in the past I swapped it for my brothers 360 and then he sold the ps3 and got a 360 & at the time I was involved with a clan on the 360 but stopped playing and most people removed me from their F/L because I was inactive (I swap between PC & console gaming)

Thought Id get a PS3 again for the exclusives.
 
A few more titles just popped into my head - the HD remakes of Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and Okami are pretty much must haves if you never played them on the PS2.
 
Another thumbs up for ps plus here. I've nearly filled my 320gb with free games now :D

It may have had a bad reputation when you last had a ps3 but it's a totally different animal now. It's insanely food value.
