Returning a broken 360 after 2months

Laddie bought his 360 from ***** about 2 months ago now (in that deal they had) and it crashes on some boot ups reporting error E74. Would he be alright in taking it back there and getting a replacement? I remember some stuff about trading stds etc.. on here a while back
