Returning after 10 years

Used to be heavily involved in the community around 10-15 years ago but then got hit with a heap of real life, wife, kids etc and gaming just fell off the radar.

My daughter is now in secondary school and learning about building a computer, the different components etc. My son is a bit younger but massively into console gaming.

I'm just thinking of taking the opportunity to work with my daughter to spec something up and build it with her and then everyone can play on that. It would only be simple games, Fortnite, Minecraft etc for now, but if we get a decent motherboard that leaves room for upgrades down the line. Just need to get up to date with all the latest spec, last time I checked a GTX 590 was peak graphics card so I'm a few generations behind now :cry:

That's how I feel coming back now, everything changes so fast!

And yea, no change to the sig as that's still my setup... It's not been turned on for several years but it's still sat up there as it was! Can probably flog it on antiques roadshow now :p

Nice! That is getting on a bit these days, but still fairly capable for general use and some basic/old games :D

Not everything changes fast. One thing remains constant: Nvidia still ripping off its customers big style :). Sorta comforting to us oldsters who don't like change, in a perverse way :)

Haha, that's true! Still the same arguments between AMD/Intel CPUs and AMD/Nvidia GPUs, could literally copy and paste somebody's thoughts from 15 years ago and they'd still be relevant today :cry:
