Is it a tremendously arduous task? Mine has just decided it will not turn on at all, i've tried a hard reset to no avail, and it just wont do anything when attached to the USB.

The reason i ask, is because obviously it is now scratched on the front and back, this isn't going to go against me is it? I don't want to hear some BS about damage caused by myself, its only 8 months old and has just died :(

Nope, just make the RMA on the apple site. They send you a box via city link, when the city link man gets there put the ipod in the box and give it back to him. Job done.

Edit:

When ipod died it did the same thing yours is. Mine was scratched all over the place. They will send you a new one.
