Just looking for some impartial advice as I'm not sure I would get it from asking the dealership.

When I come to the end of my PCH deal do I need to return the car to the dealership that gave me the car or could I; 1. Return it to a local dealership 2. Expect them to pick it up? 3. Other?

The reason I ask is that It would be about a 600mile round trip with 2 cars so I could get back, or get the train. When I got the car I was in the area to pick it up but they missed the date so they agreed to deliver it to me foc. The next car I am looking at includes free uk delivery, so it seem a normal thing at the start just not sure about the end.

I'd imagine this is detailed in your paperwork.

If I had to take an educated guess and making the assumption that the car is essentially dealer stock/asset, it would at a bare minimum need to go to a dealer from the same franchise, but likely would have to go back to the same dealership that it was sourced from.

I imagine if it is PCH then the leasing company needs to get it back and the dealer network doesn't need to be involved.

Although you should phone the company (eg. VW Financial Services if you got a VW) providing the finance (not the dealership!) and see what they say.

I always assumed with a lease they just pick up the car at the end? Assuming PCH is Personal Contract Hire (i.e. lease!)

Contact the company who has the finance. They will arrange to pick it up from your home address pending an inspection.

PCH/PCP generally the finance company will arrange it all for you.

VWFS will come pick mine up at the end apparently...(mind you, that's what the dealer told me at least and a lot of what he said was BS!)

Going through the same with Renault at the moment, car was bought through Renault Finance on a PCP deal from a dealership in Stockport. However we've dealt with Renault Finance direct who have to arrange inspection and collection from home address, we can't take this to a dealership.

My Fiesta was leased recently and went back via BCP car auctions. They already had a buyer for it given the spec and low mileage.

They inspected the car for over 45 minutes on my drive, recording a video of absolutely everything. If there was any imperfection then they would have found it. Luckily it was pristine, I replaced 2 tyres with part worns and had 2 alloys refurbished.

Once they were done I signed the paperwork and they drove the car away. Infact the guy who drove the car away turned up 2 and a half hours before the guy who did the inspection.
