Returning hardware to OCUK - advice

Hi guys

I bought two of those 24" OCUK value monitors the other day...they aren't up to scratch so I am returning them.

I sent a webnote yesterday and got a reply within an hour but the guy didn't seem to understand me...he thought I had one monitor and wanted an exchange.

I corrected it via another webnote this morning but haven't had a reply all day.

So I've rung around 16:00 today and arranged a City Link pickup for tomorrow which is good but the chap I spoke to said I didn't need an RMA.

Is that right? Will I not need an RMA number to send 2 monitors back for a refund, is just sending a note attached to the box with the receipt in be enough?

I tried ringing back tonight but I was apparently at position 1 in the queue until they had closed. :(
 
Not sure, i would read the terms and conditions carefully! You have the right by law to send anything back within 7 days of purchase, with the long distance sales agreement!
 
Thanks for the replies.

They have already said I can return them so no worries with that, I just need to know whether I do actually have to have a RMA number really...otherwise I wonder how they will track it down to me.

It does say on their T&Cs that an RMA has to be visible on two sides of the box so why would the guy said I wouldn't need one? :confused:

Going into the shop isn't an option unfortunately.
 
The reference will have been placed on the collection, but I would contact technical support about this tomorrow by phone or send in a webnote so we can verify this. :)

Thanks for the posts, I've contacted them this morning and got two new RMA numbers, City Link have no picked them up and they are on their way back.

Good stuff...though I have to say communication seemed a bit confused. The guy I spoke to today gave me the RMA number from the webnote (which was issued for one monitor to swap out not refund)...then as I got off the phone to him two new RMAs dropped into my email.

Weird, but it's sorted now, they are on their way back so I'm happy.
