Hey all

I've got my new rig up and running and a friend wants my old HIS ice-Q 7950.
It's currently still under water so i need to put it back to air cooling for him.

I still have the original fan and bracket though can't remember how it all goes back together.

Do I need any thing in particular when fitting the fan back on like thermal pads etc?

Also I'm guessing CPU thermal paste is fine to use as well?

Any thing else i would need?

cheers.

If you didn't keep the pads for the memory chips then you will need them.
CPU thermal paste is fine.
I still have 2 of these cards so if you need a photo or measure of anything let me know.

Okay cool. So I'll have to get hold of some new thermal pads for the memory. Don't suppose you know what thickness I need?

Excellent thank you.

So if I get hold of a 2mm strip of thermal tape I can just cut it up and put it onto the memory chips, whack some thermal paste onto the core and screw on the fan?
