Returning item without box

So I need to return a product to Maplins but I've managed to bin the box in all my stupidity (Checked bins, its gone). The site says it must be in a box apon returning, is it even worth trying to return it or is that a lesson learnt.

Product is a digital to analog converter & optical cable at £60

Works fine. New TV has no need for it now.

I usually keep them, the area under my bed is FULL of old boxes.

Sods law, the time I throw one away I need it. Glad it wasn't something too expensive.
