Returning Memory Card

As title, returning a memory card which has intermittent faults.

I would like to secure erase the memory card to make sure nothing can be retrieved. Any go to free applications that can do the job?

Will of course be doing a Google, but if anyone could chip in here that'd be appreciated.

Try SD Formatter 4.0 it has an option to overwrite whilst formatting.

Thanks, just to be sure the overwrite is the same as a 'secure' format?

Yep a secure format just writes data over the top and then wipes it, multiple times for the really secure gov/defence standards.
