Hi there. To cut a long story short, I purchased a new LG IPS231 LED monitor (res 1920x1080), no HDMI only DVI-D and VGA, and am returning it to the seller due a couple of issues I am having with it. Firstly when using the 1920x1080 res with an XBOX 360 via DVI-D the screen flashes, not what I expected. I have tweaked the setting and managed to minimise the flashing (but still, it is there). Also, the upscaling isn't too good I find with when using it with my 360 - jaggies in COD for example are extremely apparent, yet the edges of objects appeared a lot smooth in my older BenQ G2400W LCD monitor via HDMI.
So, if I was to buy the new Iiyama LED IPS 23" monitor, which I believe uses the same LG panel, would this upscaling still be the same? Or could it possibly differ due to the manufacturer, I really have no idea about the sort of processing that goes on inside, so maybe one can upscale better than the other, or the "jaggies" are at least less evident on one than the other?
Anyway, could you please recommend another monitor, which ticks most of the following:
1)HDMI input (would prefer this to straight DVI-D, allows for the HDMI options in the XBOX display settings, etc)
2)1920x1080 resolution (so useable with PC and 360, so latter won't be stretched)
3)IPS if possible, though decent viewing angles on any other is OK
4) Good enough response times for gaming (play COD, Fifa, etc, so ghosting would be an issue)
5) Height adjustable stand is desirable, though good adjustability in other areas may compensate for this
6) LCD/LED - may have to go back to the "older" LCD as I think most of the cheaper 23" IPS panels are the same as my current monitor, so surely this upscaling and jagginess may be a problem again?
7) At least 23", maximum of 25"
Thank you, and please don't hesitate to query any of the above, or ask about my current monitor...
