Returning products?

After a couple of weeks of testing I've come to the conclusion that i must either have a faulty chip or motherboard - as i still have not managed to get my new rig to post.

however, it was over a month since i purchased these items (from a competitors site) - should i return to where i purchased or to the manufacturer - what do people do in such situations?

phone them up, they will probs say direct RMA to manufacturer now, you want to sort out what part is faulty first though as some charge you if you RMA a product that isnt actually faulty
