I sort of left after 2 1/2 years of playing around 2 years ago - November 2006 I think it was - and I'm thinking of rejoining using my old character. Question is - what (fundamentally) has changed, if anything. Are there any good resources so I can 'catch up', and anything I should know before dusting off my old character and finding my isk?

Oh, and anyone have a corp I can join at least until I get back on my feet again?

Oooh - I'd forgotten about that.

To be more precise (now that I've looked at my subscription details), I stopped playing on 16/11/2006. I suppose I could try sifting through the patch notes since then, but is there an easier way?

Damn you both! I want to know about gameplay not graphics ;)

You know what Eve's like - you need to be on the ball and a year is a long time, much can happen.

OcUK Corp is still running. Mainly mission based, in Lonetrek.

Oi! Not before I put in an ad you don't!
Myself said:
On behalf of The Xenodus Initiative corporation and it’s members I am proud to announce that today, at roughly 19:00 EVE-time we joined the newly formed, empire alliance, Overclockers Podpilot Services.

This sparks the official rebirth of the corporation, and to reflect on this, recruitment for 14 talented Pod Pilots will begin on the 14th January 2008.

Possible applicants should have:
1. At least 5 million skill points in their chosen specialisation (Missions, Manufacturing or Research).
2. The ability to work together as a team, or individually to reach a goal, and if possible, surpass the goal.
3. The ability to make decisions on their own, for instance, if a blueprint should be researched, or not.
4. Have the ability to lead a team should the need arise.
5. Be at least 18 years old (read: Mature)

If you feel you would like to be a part of The Xenodus Initiative, and you think you fit the above, please feel free to contact Shionoya Risa in-game on, or after the 14th January 2008. As previously mentioned, only 14 places are currently available, this will be assessed, along with the performance of members in the coming months.

:p

Loads has changed, there are a TON more ships in full Trinity glory!, theres T2 vessles comming out the woodwork now.

You now have HEAT which enables you to throw 'all power to the engines' or guns or whatever, but causes damage to the module so that it will eventually fail and offline. It is meant to be used for last ditch attacks, or escapes etc. etc.

Um... what else... oh I can't remember, best off reading the patch notes :D

Oooh - I like the Star Trek style 'Divert all power to the shields cap'n' - that's definitely new.

As far as joining a corp, I'm not sure how many SP I have (I can't access until I reactivate) but it's 2 years worth, so it should be sufficient for most corps I would have thought.

Warp to 0 is a two edge thing, i set up aload of bookmarks to do this, now you can warp to 0 to any object in game without bookmarking it.

More skills then you can shake a stick at too...

Warp to 0 was being talked about just before I left. So how does gate camping work, or is it dead and buried?

As for my skill points, as I said, until I reactive (which is waiting on a credit card, unless there's another way to do it without a credit card) I don't know.

No, I meant I played it for 2 years or so before I stopped. Whatever I was training will have finished a year or so ago :)

If you look at these people Shattered Crystal they sell you the game cards by a paypal payment. I was recommended them after i had started my trial in Eve by Feek and they have a fast service turnaround after payment, was called to confirm some details as it was my first use of them 15 minutes after placing my order and 5-10 minutes after got the game code via email.

Wow is that right (the prices they quote)? The reason I ask is that a 90 day card direct from Eve Online (38.85 Euros/£29) is $39.99 which is £21.... Can they really be cheaper than paying directly, or am I missing some hidden charges?

Given that they're £8 cheaper over a 3 month period, I'm not unduly surprised.

Right, sorting it now.... there goes my life again (at least for 3 months).
