Returning to PC gaming after a long hiatus. Will this build work?

After a 5-year hiatus from gaming on a PC, I'm looking at getting a small form box that will serve as both a gaming machine and a general family PC for word processing and the odd bit of graphic design on Illustrator.

Specifically, I have been out of the loop for so long that I've no real idea where graphics cards have got to. I've got a lot of catching up to do and I'm most interested in playing games like Skyrim, Dawn of War 2, Portal 2, Diablo III, Total War etc. I may be interested in having a go on Eldar Scrolls online at some point in the future (or the new WH40k MMO!)

I haven't built a PC for years, so thought it would be safer to go for an OC spec build. How well would the following spec play the above games? Would you recommend a higher spec graphics card? Speakers and peripherals etc. are already owned.

Hi,

It looks under powered in the cpu department, are you sure you dont want to build a PC?

Could even ask OcUK to build a PC for a fee.

OK thx, my budget limit is £750, so assuming I'd get OC to build it, what system would you recommend? I could stretch the CPU to a AMD A10-7700K 3.40GHz (Socket FM2+) APU Quad Core Processor?

I wouldn't bother with AMD CPUs at all TBH, apart from that you're choosing an APU, you'll be using the graphics card so the APU on the chip will be redundant.
