Reuse of Win7 retail key thats not in use?

I'm thinking of upgrading my Win7 home premium up to the ultimate edition, I know it would be cheaper just to buy the upgrade edition rather than the retail one.

So if I upgraded from home premium to ultimate using the new ultimate key, could I reuse the old home premium key on another PC? The home premium key is the full retail edition and has only been activated on my PC. Thanks

If you upgrade from Premium to Utimate using an upgrade licence you cannot then reuse the Premium on another PC, if however you upgrade from Premium to Ultimate by buying a full retail ultimate licence you can then use the premium licence on another PC.

what makes you want to upgrade to ultimate? What benefits will you get from The upgrade?

Unless you need the extra features its not worth the upgrade. For your average home user/ gamer there is no benefit in the upgrade!
