Hello,

I'm going to be reusing tongue and groove cladding, first it's going to be sanded and then painted.

My question is should I use something like Dulux Weathershield - Exterior Preservative Primer and then Cuprinol 5 Year Ducksback (colour I've chosen is from this brand), To make sure that the wood lasts a long time.

Thanks!

Always a good idea to have an extra layer of protection (thats what she said). I used a clear preserver (Ronseal I think) and an exterior timber paint on our shed last year.

You reckon it would be OK to use Barrettine Premier Universal Preservative with Both Cuprinol 5 Yr DucksBack (for the entire shed) and Ronseal 10 Year Exterior Wood Paint (for the wooden trim)?

Don't see why not. Seems a tad overkill going for three layers though, you would normally redcoat after a year anyway so you're adding to the work without i suspect much additional benefit. Although you say its just for the trim so yeah should be ok but you could use the Cuprinol for the trim instead of something else.
