Revenge is..dangerous!

I think that's who he was referring to. :)

The sabotaged astra owner doesn't work for a garage, he works for a firm that manufactures refrigerated hgv trailers. Most people that work there wouldn't know how to do an oil change let alone see a burst coolant pipe. Anyone that drives however should be able to notice a temp guage in the red.

that's the trouble with astra's there's no red light or anything to warm you that it's overheading, there is just a temperature gauge. I had a hose split on a 1.7 cdti (stupid design means they're close to the exhaust manifold and fail after certain miles) and I only noticed when the car stopped pulling properly.
Quick look at the dash meant that I quickly pulled over and there was no damage done.

the small temperature gauge is not exactly something you're looking at every 5 seconds, is it?

So yet another reason vauxhalls fail then?

Our local vauxhall garage is closing down in a few weeks. One of the mechanics told me earlier in the week "we have nothing to do now that they pulled all our warrenty work"
So... without fixing things that go wrong with vauxhalls under warrenty, 6 mechanics have nothing to do. Says a lot about vauxhalls reliability doesn't it.

Bullying is nowhere near as bad as touching a mans car, or worse, cutting brake lines, that is attempted murder imho.

I hope the guy who did this gets caught, unfortunately he will get away with little punishment, he should be in prison for the next 40 years at least.

I had an Astra in my family for the past 4 years and it's done such a bad job that I got one for myself as well last year. Quite happy with both of them, they are decent fair cars despite the OcUK hate. Well I think it says good things if mechanics have nothing to do, considering how many Vauxhalls are on the road. :)

Did you miss the part where I said vauxhall agency pull all their warrenty repairs. Now they have nothing to do. So they spent all their time fixing things that have gone wrong that shouldn't have gone wrong, not doing regular things like servicing or replacing wear and tear parts. Very few vauxhall owners will still pay main dealer prices for servicing and repairs on their car once their warrenty is out. It's been my experience that with most cars on the road, you get the odd bad one. With vauxhalls you get the odd good one.

I think you got it the wrong way around really.

I mean the Internet tells us that "The Astra is a tough little car, and figures from Warranty Direct put the Astra in the top 20 most reliable cars in our 2005 Reliability Survey" while the verdict is that it's a "thoroughly affordable, dependable and practical small famliy car ". according to whatcar.com
http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/used/vauxhall/astra-hatchback/full-review/23469-5

But then again the OcUK vauxhall hate is something that pops out on every possible occasion, so no surprise there really.

I would love to know what sort of "banter" was being said to get this lad to "supposedly" cut this guys brake lines and water coolant pipework. TBH I think were only hearing one side of the story.
I've seen people try to hide their bullying behind banter so many times its unbelievable, the last time i saw any serious action undertaken was when a white fat balding man fought call a black apprentice "*****" and "monkey" was banter, lets just say my engineer had the guy fired pretty much instantaneously.
To be honest this guy sounds like a bit of a knob who the hell rips into an apprentices with learning difficulties and ADHD?? is he sure he hasn't got problems with other members of staff on site?
I'm not condoning the brake line damage because that is far too dangerous to everyone else but I have been pushed to the same levels as this guy, i was bullied at a previous job to the point that i snapped and took the tw@t in questions phone and forward the images of his bit on the side and him to his wife.
Those that claim he should just put up with it really need to come into the 21st century, it his right as set down by employment law to work in an environment free from abuse or persecution, this obviously isn't the case. If the lad does get proved to have done the deed I can foresee both being fired if H.R. get involved.

Something really bad must have been said to provoke this. I suppose we will never find out.

I would go to the police about it though, whoever was driving that car could have died.

Or maybe they cant go to the police because of what was said?????

At the end of the day it is essentially attempted murder so hopefully it goes through the legal process coz if the guy does have a condition that can get out of hand like this is needs to be dealt with before someone does get hurt - unfortunatly things like ADHD/Autism, Aspergers, etc. are poorly understood in general - and if the victim of the sabotage really did bully the guy severely this needs to be dealt with to, its not acceptable in the workplace (or anywhere else).
