Reverse Engineering?

Anyone indulge in reverse engineering executables? Any resources you'd recommend to the inexperienced? Currently playing around with Hopper(disassembler) on the Mac.

I used to have a play years ago. IDA Pro is awesome :). Could never got on with the really old school tools back in the day like softice though ;).

I imagine talking about it will result in the thread getting locked here though :(

IDA Pro seems to be the most talked about, but a bit expensive for someone who isn't going to use it professionally(hobbyist). I quite like Hopper so far but obviously it's nowhere near as popular.

Ida pro have a free version.

Check out ollydbg as well ( also free)

I did malware reversal on my degree and still hobby about in it.
The best way to learn is practice. There's a good few guides online if you search online to start you off.
