We have just bought a reverse macro ring from the bay.

When i conect it up, and look through the view finder, it seems to work fine, the seen image is as expected, I have to focus manually as expected, no problems there.

But when I try and hit the shutter button and take a picture I get

!no lens attached

Doese any body know where I might be going wrong, or if there is a work around to make the camera believe there is a lens?

the camera is a minolta dynax 7d, using a minolta 28 - 100 55mm thread lens.

thanks in advance

I may be wrong on this, but I read that you have to half-depress the shutter with the lens the correct way round, then with the shutter still half down, you flip the lens round, and it still thinks there's a lens attached.

100% do not take my word for it - I've never used one.

According to Google you need to turn off the shutter lock in one of the camera custom setting menus

thanks m8, found it now, your a star :)

In my defense i did look in google, but all it would give me is loads of minolta reviews

its not what you ask, but how you ask it :P
