Reverting back to a standard numberplate?

Hey folks;

I am buying a car which has a 'personalised' numberplate, I say this, it's a rubbish one that really does mean nothing!

Had a word with the current owner who said its £100 to switch back to the original registration, is this true? Any where else to get it cheaper? I only want a normal numberplate :'(

Why not just leave it? How can this be worse than a normal plate?

May mean nothing to you, but someone out there will pay stupid money if it has their initials in it. Maybe worth making a profit out of it.

You idiot, buy the car with it (it adds no value), then sell the plate (it's worth more than the cost of transferring to a regular plate).

No, that was purely for dramatic effect. If you take away the "You idiot ," and capitalize the "buy" it's a lot more boring.

it depends how 'personal' the plate is though. it could be something completely worthless to all but 3 people, like W54 PAD, or something equally boring
