As part of my course i have been asked to get my online portfolio reviewed.
If you could review the layout / colours / accessibility of my website and reply to this thread / email me, it will be much appreciated.
Especially if you are a graphic designer.

It's not bad but it doesn't really feel like a portfolio, I thought it would be for an online game community. There are 2 lines separating the content and nav bars, one solid grey and one dashed white which are out of place. I don't think it's the best idea having 1 really small thumbnail with a rollover to a 2nd small one then to click on it to for the full size in a new window; not sure. :)

One thing that immediately struck me was the dashed underlines for links. While it's not any kind of standard, it' has become somewhat of a convention to indicate <abbr>s and <acronym>s with dashed underlines, which you can then hover over to read the full-length phrase. I didn't expect to be able to click through using them - particularly when they underlined things like 'CSS' and 'XHTML'.

Overall, it looks clean and tidy. I would agree that the design doesn't shout 'portfolio' to me. The breadcrumb navigation in the footer is a little confusing, and I feel is unecessary with the volume of content you have. Perhaps if it was higher up, and had better indication, such as '>' separators.

A small point - It's spelt "signature", also it's obvious *** it is, so you might want to change the alt text to your name instead :)

Also on the left, the link titled "Html", if it were me I Would capitalize the whole link, so it is HTML, like on the page that loads when you click it.

Also when in your HTML portfolio, if you mouse over "Web Design" or "Flash" you get a load of red x's in internet explorer, which doesn't look too great, but you don't have the same problem in Opera or Firefox.

Have to agree with some of the above. The site doesn't shout out portfolio to me, more of a portal/news page. I like the overclockers.co.uk style naviagtion at the top right too. May put something similar on my site later to that effect too. ;)

Just a quick word on the grammar and spelling:

Don't hop between 1st and 3rd person:

"An online portfolio for Richard Tucker" - 3rd Person
"i hope to graduate with honors and persue" - 1st Person

honors -> honours
persue -> pursue
i -> I

Maybe a bit over-picky, but attention to detail is very important with these sort of things - present a sketch/draft of a site to a client littered with grammatical and spelling errors isn't going to get you much work.

:)

Cheers for all of the feedback guys, however grammatically correct it may have been *coughs* Mr^B. Ill get on it asap.
I agree with the breadcrumbs comment, i was just being lazy sticking solid blocks there. I was hoping people wouldn't notice the Overclockers style menu haha. I'll have a go at making it look more portfolio like, my excuse is that it's my first css site so i am allowed to go over the top with div's.

Cheers
