What’s Included?
Very well packaged which is of course a credit to OCUK as well as Superflower.

Included is the manual, PSU (doh) and cables which come in a nice pouch.
Personally not a fan of the colour coded connectors but it may make it easier for noobies I guess
Installing
So in the image below you can see the cables I’ll need, ready to connect
Current cable management as you can see isn't impressive due to the unit being semi-modular, which is part of the reason I have gone fully modular now
Side by side comparison, will be sad seeing the XFX go and it's a bit of a downgrade in terms of wattage going from 850w to 750w. Still 750w is plenty and probably even 50% of that won’t be utilised by my build. Also it will be great having a fully modular unit that is white (future build) and a fan that shouldn't even switch on!
Maybe because of the colour but the finish doesn’t feel as premium as you would expect for the price. But I guess it's what inside that matters when it comes to PSUs and this unit doesn’t disappoint in that aspect. Also the fact that I have a black case probably doesn’t help, my plans are to paint it white or just get a new case
Anyway after getting everything connected, I received a nice surprise when I turned on the system, it was the PSU LEDs that I had completely forgot about!
There is a little switch at the back which allows you to change the fan mode to hybrid. I did so and was pleasantly surprised with the drop in noise level. The fan remains passive until 60% load level is reached, so I was unable to test this but apparently even then it is very quiet.
Testing
I'm by no means a professional reviewer so no expensive testing equipment used I'm afraid!
Anyway due to this, the load testing was carried out as part of the normal PC routine i.e a range of games were played but also some applications were used such as prime95 to be a bit more rigorous. I’ve had the PSU for a few months now and everything is running smoothly as expected. Touch wood it keeps going for many moons, nonetheless a 5 year warranty certainly has you covered
Final Verdict
4.5/5
Silent in hybrid mode, fully modular unit with good range of cables and length. No issues with performance, also looks great certainly if planning a white build, it is a market with not many white PSUs. What I can say is that it would be great to see the Leadex Gold range available in white too.
